Kolkata Knight Riders : 160/1 (18.3 overs) Kallis 80*, Gambhir 75*
The unbeaten partnership for 152 runs between Gambhir and Kallis made the chase of 160 runs very easy. Kolkata defeated the rajasthan Royals by 9 wickets with 9 balls to spare. Winning the toss Kolkata decided to field first with two new overseas players Lee and Shakib Al Hasan returning form the internatonal duty. In the other hand the Royals had Watson returning on the side.
Not really a batsman making huge runs Rajasthan filed a moderate target of 160 runs on the board. Dravid, Taylor, Watson and Menaria got some 30s and 20s on the score for the Royals. Pathan and Shakib took 2 wickets eac of KKR.
Yusuf Pathan was able to take his two wickets bowling only a over giving away 4 runs. He picked up Dravid and Menaria in 12th over when Rajasthan were looking on the top. Lee playing his first match for KKR was unable to pick up any wickets.
In the reply, despite the tragid run out of Bisla in 2nd over, KKr had everything right in their chased. Kallis and Gambhir attacked every opponent bowlers and chasing the target down in 18.3 overs. Gambhir made unbeaten 75 of 43 and Kallis made 80* off 65 balls. KKR's captain was crowned for the Player of the match.
