After hypes on different names including Trescothick, Mark Ramprakrash, Robert Key and other, it has been confirmed that Jonathan Trott will make the debut for England in test cricket. For the final test of Ashes 2009, Trott will be the replacement for Ravi Bopara. With Ian Bell in no.3, Trott will bat for England in likely to bat at no.5
Monty Panesar has been included in the squad and its likely that England will play two spinners - him and Swann. Ian Bell who had shown great form playing for his country is too in the squad which includes the following players:
England Squad: 1. Andrew Strauss (capt), 2 Alastair Cook, 3 Ian Bell, 4 Paul Collingwood, 5 Jonathan Trott, 6 Matt Prior (wk), 7 Andrew Flintoff, 8 Stuart Broad, 9 Graeme Swann, 10 James Anderson, 11 Steve Harmison, 12 Monty Panesar, 13 Graham Onions, 14 Ryan Sidebottom.
