Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) is arguably the most popular team in Indian Premier league. The reason for its popularity is mainly due to the fact that it is owned by Bollywood star Shah Rukh Khan. Craze of Ganguly in Bengal is another reason. Though the team couldn't finish in top 4 last season, it was the most profit-making team.

You hit the nail on the head - they need to utilize their players properly.
ReplyDeleteHowever, they already seem to be floundering on that front even before a single match is played... 4 captains... really? seems to be the worst strategy I have seen for a long time...
Lets see what it results. Sometimes these types of decision can boost the team performance.
ReplyDeleteI think instead of 4 captains they must try to provide a chance of captaincy to all the players in squad.
NO NOT AGAIN
ReplyDeleteshah rukh khan i m big fen of u dont do mistake again pls
should drop ajit agarkar he is not good player he has not class and he proveed it so many time and also first addition of IPL pls drop him he is not a good player
I think Mccullum is not a good choice for captain others are good. Also, Mendis should be used as a full time spinner as skills could of great use.
ReplyDeleteI think Mortaza is a better player than Agarkar.

Kaushik
do you people not understand, he plays agarkar because he is compelled to, not out of choice. You are only allowed four international players and Mccullum, Gayle, Mendis and Dave Hussey are all pretty much automatic picks. Therefore he can't play Mortaza ahead of Agarkar
ReplyDeletegayle, mendis, mccullum can change matches.kkr can do it......but we shuld change our captain.not 4 we need just 1 good captain
ReplyDeletethe coach is a stupid fellow while changing the captaincy. if he changes the captain i am the first person who hits him with iron shoes........gangully is the best captain for knight riders..........
ReplyDeletehai my name is prasad. i like sharuk in movies and gangully in cricket. wen they both r in kolkatta night riders i feel very happy. but sharuk wen u listen the words of coach and decided to change the captancy i feel very unhappy and i am very angry on u. u r indian and why r u allowing another country member as captain. by this issue all knows hw stupid u r.......
ReplyDeleteI AM A BIG BIG FAN OF KKR. I REALY REALY DISLIKE THE DECISION OF SRK AND JHON. SOURAV GANGULY(DADA) IS RENOUND ALL OVER THE WORLD AS A BEST CAPTAIN OF TEAM INDIA. HE CAN EXCELLENTLY MANAGE THE TEAM KKR. THOUGH I AM A BENGALI, I DON'T SUPPORT THE TEAM RIGHT NOW. NOT ONLY ME MANY OF KKR FAN HATES THE DECISION OF SRK. WE LOVE U DADA. WE ALL WANT U BACK IN THE KKR TEAM AS A CAPTAIN.
ReplyDeletekulkata is a team run by idiots! why would you drop mendis for the first game? probably the best spinner in the world at the moment, he can run through entire batting line-ups, plus half the world has yet to play against his incredible variations. Perhaps a few indian player can pick his variations but he is still deadly acurate and very difficult to score off. If they want any chance of winning the tournement, they must use mendis!
ReplyDeleteMasrafee is a useful alrounder . when he fail in ball ,he has ability to fulfil his duty by bat. i want to see trophy in k.k.r.'s hands. Sourav is a good leader, k.k.r. needs to get back him as captain.

ReplyDeleteIt is a poor decision changes the captain. mccullum is good but not a best captain than sourav . If kkr tri to rich his gool must change his captain one time more. Those captain sourave.
shahrukh plz....dada is the one and only captain among our boys....so do the same......plz
ReplyDeletei am a big fan of kkr..but unfortunately the team is not good enough to go to the semis..Expect for 2-3 players there are no matchwinners in the team. The management must look after this and try to build a competitive team in ipl 2010..In 2009 it seems kkr dont have any chance..It will be good if they dont secure the 8th spot in the tournament..
ReplyDeletedear shahrukh,i am best freind is u & kkr. i am sad today .coz my team is not playing properly.please give a 1 chance to ganguly. he is best player & captain.agarkar is not fit 20/20 pls replace him.mortaza is best player.i am sanjay christian ahmedabad.
ReplyDeleteI think KKR should play Mashrafee instead of Hussy as he is not in great form... they r wasting a good all-rounder. In team's current form, i don't see any harm in trying Mashrafee in one or two games.
ReplyDeleteit thre any game plna for KKR.>>> y not playing masrafee...de r losing n losing bt y dey n not chosing a good bowler cum batsman..i dont understan bukanons idea...Mr saharukh i think u should kick mR bukanon n team management 1st...If ur not using Masrafee mortuza dan y u ve bought him with a so much price??wats the ans
ReplyDeleteKORBO LORBO HARBO bt never take masrafee in the team>>do fight lose bt never ever take him..dats the main slogan of the team
ReplyDeletei m fan of kkr.And i want win.and for that kkr needs 4 good player from india.r.p.singh,Yusuf patthan.Peeyush chawla.raina,Like other. They have only ishant who is going to uk for t20 world cup.KKr need few good player from india.and they need boths as captain not maccullam.Botha spinner from south africa he is very good captain.
ReplyDeleteGoto hell! Kkr will be 8th in ipl2 unless they play mash and mendis
ReplyDeletethe great mistake made by the sharukh is by changing the captaincy.....ganguly is named as one of the best captain in the world..
ReplyDeleteshahrukh may be a bollywood superstar and as stated may possess a keen buisness acumen which is substantiated by the fact that despite having a lousy first season, he ended with great profits to the tune of 13 crore but frankly, he should leave the hardcore decisions related to the game to the professionals....guess, he gets too personal and then arise needless rifts....who can concentrate on the game when you are having stories circulating in the media about sourness between ganguly and shahrukh, multicaptain theories etc....His team is easily the most controversial team which are all working against the benefit of the team, no wonder they ended up lousily in the second season too.....cant see any signs of recovery....
ReplyDeleteSRK has no acting talent, just eternal boyish charms, which worked for him hin Bollywood; but won't work in professional team management. Neither does his ham handed attitude work. Managing professional team requires some subtle acting - no drama. Dramas are required sometimes for extra attention - like Dennis Rodman of Chicago bulls. But, that's a side show not involving the hero. It's another issue that a sports team can have only one super hero; the owner being a super hero himself does not help. SRK needs understand that team morale is more important than showing who is the boss. I am glad IPL is proving money is not everything. I am glad SRK is learning his lessons.
ReplyDeleteYou got to believe in your people; show them they can trust you.
The talent is making your team believe that they have your full confidence, even though you nurture doubts and share with your coach.
I think the main reason why K.K.R is loosing matches is because of their poor team management. When there is a rule that a team must have 7 Indian players in the side how come McCullum become captain. He is not suppose to know how to treat, how to manage these Indians, does he? Therefore there should have been an Indian captain.
ReplyDeleteAt last I would say, K.K.R should let Mashrafee play. He is a genius and would be much useful than Mendis.
I liked your blog its nice. Keep it up good work!
