Highlights of 5th Test - Ashes 2011 [Video]

England has won the Ashes 2010 fifth test by an inning difference. With this they have won the series 3-1. Alastair Cook was judged the man of the match as well as the man of the series. Day 5 highlights - click here.

DAY 3

 Another oustanding day for Englishmen, England now lead by 208 runs with 3 wickets remaining at Day 3. Cook and Bell score century for England to make the score to 488/7. This morning England lost their Nightwatchman Anderson and Collingwood quickly. Then came Ian Bell who supported Cook for the stand of 156 runs. Cook score 189 runs and Bell got 115 runs. Before bad light stopped play at SCG, Matt Prior is batting at 54 runs.

DAY 2

Australia could make a respective total in the board of 280 runs after the poor start in the morning. Haddin, Hussey and Smith could not deliver much for the Aussie and they were 189-8. But Johnson and Helfenhaus got a partnership of 76 runs for the 9th wicket. In reply also Johnson picked up 2 wickets whereas Helfenhaus got one before the day's play ended on 167/3. Strauss went with aggressive approach making 60 runs from 58 ball before he was bowled by   Hilfenhaus. The leading runmaker in Ashes 2010/11, Alaister Cook is not out on 61 runs. At the end of play on Day 2 England are trailing by 113 runs with 7 wickets in hand.

DAY 1
As some earlier matches, first day of Ashes in the year 2011 favored the visitors before the rain stopped the day's play in Sydney. After the new Aussie captain Micheal Clarke won the toss and chose to bat first, Australia are 134/4 (in 59 ov) after the end of day's play.  Australia started the match steadily before losing the wicket in the last over before lunch for 55. Watson and Hughes could start but both of them could not continue the innings longer. UT Khawaja, in place of injured captain Ponting also should his potentiality but he was also gone for 37 runs and then rain stopped the play for the day. Disciplinary bowling was the secret for English bowler, Bresnan picked 2 wickets whereas Temlett and Swann shared each. On the other side, apart of being captain Clarke's form had no change. He was out for just 4 runs.
