India have won the 1st ODI against New Zealand at Guwahati. Virat Kohli smashed a superb century for India as they made 276 runs. New Zealand on the other hand got all out on 236. India now has a 1-0 lead in the 5-match ODI series. Its the fourth century for the rising star-Virat Kohli.

It was the first match as a captain for Gautam Gambhir. Gambhir had a great challenge to lead the team which is without most senior players. India started beautifully and it was great during middle over. Though, finishing was not the best, India was able to get a respectable total of 276.
Ashwin, Sreesanth and Yuvraj took 3 wickets each for India. Taylor got 66 for the Kiwis but was not sufficient. The 2nd ODI will be played on December 1, 2010.
