In the opening match of the series and 1st match of international cricket in Dubai sports Club cricket ground Pakistan have beaten Australia by six wickets. The lights of Afridi in bowling has provided Pakistan the famous victory. Pakistan losing the toss and were sen to field first removed all the Australian batsman for the total of 168 runs with 11.1 more to be bowled.
Shahid Afridi was the peak among the bowlers who bowled his 10 overs picking 6-38. The track seemed to be doing a lot for the spinner. Meanwhile another Pakistani spinner Saeed Ajmal was also brilliant with his figures of 2-19 off 10 overs.
Australia started their innings with good opening partnership between Marsh and Haddin. Marsh struggling from the hamstring problem called for the runner in. Unfortunate for him, he was out due to a runner who ram him out. First wicket fell down an Australia were 41/1. They had a decent going from Haddin and Watson. Then Shahid Afridi struck on his 4th over picking Haddin out when the team were 95 runs.
Then Australia never seemed to be in game. Afridi continued from the end and Saeed Ajmal joined the spinner who kept lots of pressure on Aussie. Saeed Ajmal got the Captains wicket on 100 from his Doosra and Clarke nicked it to Akmal who had a fine gloves. Australia lost their middle order in vert quick succession. Between 4 runs from 107-110 Australia lost a wicket each for a run.
Batting had a great problem in middle overs. Haddin and Watson scored 40 runs each in the top and Hop[es got 48 runs not out in the middle for Australia. The total was very less but it was not so much indefensible. Australia should really have taken Pakistan in Pressure from the 1st ball of 2nd innings.
Salman Butt and Kamran Akmal were asked to open, interesting to see Nasir Jhamshed was send very low in order. But the trick did much for Pakistan, Akmal scored a good 48 runs. Pakistan also kept losing the wickets. Salman Butt scored 5 and Younus Khan stayed in for 31 balls for 11 runs. Mallik and Akmal lead the team to 99-2 where they lost Akmal and score was 99-3. The Pakistanis suddenly than lost some wickets and pressure seemed to be in their head too. But Misbah remain unbeaten in the crease. Shahid Afridi was having the fun with bat also who got 24 from 16 balls before Hilfenhaus got his wickets.
At the end Pakistan got to the total with 5.5 overs to spear. Thanks to the great team work of Pakistan side which have brought the victory over the former world no. 1 team.
