Mumbai Indians vs Deccan Chargers in IPL 2011 - Highlights [video] | DC vs MI

Mumbai Indians have won the IPL match against Deccan Chargers by 37 runs. Batting first Mumbai made 172 while Deccan could only get 135 in 20 overs loosing 8 wickets. Malinga took 3 wickets for Mumbai giving just 9 runs in 4 overs.

Mumbai Indians managed to score 172 in 20 overs after a great batting display from former Deccan players - Symonds and Rohit Sharma. Batting first Mumbai got to a decent start and were 70/1 in 8 overs. Three more wickets fell at that point making it 70/4. The partnership of Andrew Symonds and Sharma rescued the team.

Rohit Sharma scored 56 from 34 balls while Symonds made 44 of 33 balls. They made a 102 runs partnership. Amit Mishra was the pick of Deccan bowlers as he took 2 wickets giving just 14 runs in 4 overs.

Feroz Kotla Stadium hosted the first 200+ score and that came in both the innings of Delhi DareDevils and Kings XI Punjab. There was the flow of runs when Punjab were just 29 runs sort of 231 runs made by Delhi.

Sehwag and Warner started the innings after winning the toss in a very high. They made 146 runs partnership in 11.4 overs. Sehwag was the first one to go with 77 off 35 (8X4s and 4X6s). At 16th over Warner go outin 77 off 48 when the team score was 176/3. Then Venugopal Rao (28*) and Nawan Ojha (19*) were the cameos at the end which got the team to 231 runs.

In reply to the huge total, Punjab's new hero Valthaty got early but Shaun Marsh and Adam Gilchrist took the match ahead. Gilchrist made 44 runs off 33 balls. Shaun Marsh continued his brilliant form in IPL and team were one stage 150/3 in 15th over with Hussey and Mars in crease. But the target was too high and the innings had to crummble at the end. Marsh was out on 95 off 46 (9X4s and 6X6s). Finally, Punjab were settled in just 202 runs in 20 overs.

Eden Garden holds another superb match as ex-KKR player Chris Gayle scored century to take Bangalore team to a comprehensive win. Chasing a target of 172 runs, Chris Gayle, who is playing his 1st match for IPL 2011 and RCB got home with 11 balls and 9 wickets remaining. Gayle got 102* off 54 balls.

Choosing to bowl first after winning the toss, Vettori's boys didn't bowl their best. JH Kallis started well with his 40 runs. Gambhir contributed 48 off 38 whereas Pathan's quick 46 off 24 balls made the scoreline to 171 runs.

The unbeaten partnership for 152 runs between Gambhir and Kallis made the chase of 160 runs very easy. Kolkata defeated the rajasthan Royals by 9 wickets with 9 balls to spare. Winning the toss Kolkata decided to field first with two new overseas players Lee and Shakib Al Hasan returning form the internatonal duty. In the other hand the Royals had Watson returning on the side.

Not really a batsman making huge runs Rajasthan filed a moderate target of 160 runs on the board. Dravid, Taylor, Watson and Menaria got some 30s and 20s on the score for the Royals. Pathan and Shakib took 2 wickets eac of KKR.

Yusuf Pathan was able to take his two wickets bowling only a over giving away 4 runs. He picked up Dravid and Menaria in 12th over when Rajasthan were looking on the top. Lee playing his first match for KKR was unable to pick up any wickets.

In the reply, despite the tragid run out of Bisla in 2nd over, KKr had everything right in their chased. Kallis and Gambhir attacked every opponent bowlers and chasing the target down in 18.3 overs. Gambhir made unbeaten 75 of 43 and Kallis made 80* off 65 balls. KKR's captain was crowned for the Player of the match.

India Vs West Indies 2011 - Fixtures and Schedule

After the IPL 2011, the World Cup Champions India will travel all across to West Indies for International cricket series. The team will play 1 T20, 5 ODIs then followed by 3 tests in West Indies. By the time, West Indies would have just finished another home series against Pakistan.

Kings XI Punjab has got their first victory in IPL 2011. They defeat the defending champion Chennai by 6 wickets. Punjab chased the target of 189 runs in 19.1 overs with wickets remaining. All the credit goes to their opener Paul Valthaty who scored 120 runs 63 off balls. Valthaty scored 19 fours and two sixes.

Choosing to bowl first after winning the toss, Punjab's Praveen Kumar started with two wickets in first two balls. Murali Vijay an Badrinath guided the innings to 124 runs in 15th over. Then the Chennai captained scored 43 off 22 after getting out in last ball of the inning. Murali Vijay scored 74 runs whereas Badrinath was not out at 66.

Paul Valthaty's hundred in IPL 2011 [video]

Paul Valthaty has become the first player to score a century in the fourth season of IPL. Valthaty, playing for Kings XI Punjab made a hundred in just 52 balls. KXIP were chasing a target of 189 made by Chennai super Kings. He made a total 120 not out in 63 balls and smashed 19 fours and 2 sixes.

It was Valthaty's inning which won the match for Punjab. Opening the inning, he made 61 runs partnership with Gilchrist. While other partners couldn't score more than 20 runs, Valthaty kept going on.

Highlights of Cricket world cup final 2011 - India vs Sri Lanka

India has won the ICC Cricket World cup 2011. India defeated Sri Lanka by 6 wickets in the final match. Gautam Gambhir and Mahendra Singh Dhoni were the heroes of the match. Gambhir made 97 while Dhoni was not out on 91. India reached the total in 48.2 overs.

Sri Lanka after winning the toss has chose to bat first. Sri Lanka made 274/6 in 50 overs. Jayawardene was the hero as he made 103 runs off 88 balls. They started slow and lost two wickets early. Some sensible batting from Sangakkara, Samaraweera, Kulasekara and last minute fireworks from Thissara Perera helped them  a lot.

 Talking more about the match, Zaheer bowled superb at beginning but went for plenty in the last 5 overs. Yuvraj took 2 wickets and was pick of the bowlers.
