  • India Vs New Zealand 2009, 3rd test- day 3: Highlights

At the end of day 3India are: 349/5 in second innings after starting at 51/1

India has extended their lead to 531 in the third day in which they completely dominated New Zealand. Man in a superb form, Gautam Gambhir 167 runs. He lead the team from the front to extend the lead in which Dravid and Laxman who made 60 and 61 gave good support.

India were 51/1 at the end of day 2 with Gambhir and Dravid at the crease. They played beautifully and got their 50's each. Gambhir got his 50 and Dravid followed a bit later. At lunch they got to 170/1. Gambhir got his century immediately after the lunch. Dravid was then out after a superb interpretation from wicket keeper McCullum. Dravid swept the ball of Vettori but McCullum got to the leg side earlier and got the man at 60.

Tendulkar was out early at 9. VVS Laxman then played fine inning of 61. Gambhir got out making 167 being lbw off O'Brien followed by Laxman shortly. So, Yuvraj and Dhoni are at crease. The day got ended earlier but the 4th day will start 30 minute earlier.

India will look to extend the lead to about 600 and will probably declare after first session. India has almost 90% chances of winning the match and the series 2-0. I don't think New Zealand can comeback and win and there is very less chance of raining. Cheers! Indian fans, India is about to create history.
