Video of Peter Siddle's Hattrick in Ashes 2010-2011, 1st Test

Peter Siddle took the Hat-trick in the 1st test of Ashes in Gabba, Sydney. The birthday boy was controversial for playing the match but he proved himself with the hat-trick and career best figure of 6-54. This hat-trick didn't just boost Siddle but the whole Aussie as they didn't have expected more than this sort of start in the Ashes.

England opener Alaister Cook, Matt Proir and Stuart broad were the victims of his hat-trick at Gabba.

England vs Australia - Highlights of 1st test in Ashes 2010 / 11

Ashes 2010 / 2011 has started with the first test on November 25. The day 1 of first test has finished and Aussies are batting.

Day 1: Aussies got an edge in the day 1 as they packed up England for 260, they are on 25 without loss of any wicket. Siddle was the hero of the day as he took 6 wickets along with a hat-trick. Cook made 67 and Bell made 76 for the English side.

The Ashes 2010 : Swann eyes top spot

If Graeme Swann needed any added inspiration heading into the opening Test, then the chance to top the ICC’s Bowling Rankings may be it. Current number one Dale Steyn is a meagre six points ahead of Swann who lies second in the rankings.

If Swann can produce the goods for England at the Gabba, then the 31 year old spinner could become the first England bowler since Steve Harmison to top the rankings since August 2004. Harmison topped the list six years ago thanks to his match figures of 9-121 against the West Indies. It’s probably safe to say that England would welcome a sort of déjà vu situation here.

Those studying ashes live betting will know that Swann has been one of world cricket’s most dangerous bowlers since finally making his Test debut two years ago, at the late age of 29. In his 24 Test matches so far, the off spinner has taken 113 wickets at an average of 26.

While effective in last year’s victorious Ashes series, Swann didn’t have the sort of impact that the cricket odds expect he will have this winter. He finished the series with a decent total of 14 wickets as well as scoring some very useful lower order runs.

The Aussie’s have made a lot about of noise about the threat posed by Swann and they will have spent plenty of time developing a game plan to counter Swann. One of the options could be to take an aggressive approach to his bowling. Swann will have to prove his is cunning enough to work around whatever the Aussie’s bring to the table.
